One of his goals was to be able to read to a group of people with confidence and pride in his local church.
Mr P wanted to improve his reading and writing skills to allow him to be able to follow recipes and instructions, and to enjoy reading books that his wife shared with him. Mr. P spent time during his support calls reading different books and learning materials. He was encouraged to read instructions on packets prior to cooking, and to incorporate his love of singing by reading karaoke lyrics as a fun activity.
Mr.P grew in confidence and began to enjoy reading on a regular basis.
This year, he achieved his dream of standing in front of his church congregation to deliver a passage during a Sunday service.
Build confidence and increase her social circle
M lives independently and wanted to increase her social circle by attending more evening clubs and social groups to make positive connections and friendships with people around her.
She has been supported to find and access different groups that she is interested in and enjoys a wide range of social activities from music folk groups, to bingo, and evening dance clubs.
She has gained confidence and attended events and parties in the community that have made her feel happy and included, and given her the opportunity to make new friends.
